Gravel Worlds Brings Back "1000 Women of Gravel" Initiative for 2025
Empowering Women in Gravel Cycling While Supporting NICA GRiT
Lincoln, NE – [11/17/2024] – Gravel Worlds is thrilled to announce the return of its "1000 Women of Gravel" initiative for the 2025 event. Following the success of the program in 2022, Gravel Worlds aims to once again bring 1,000 women to its start line, promoting inclusivity and empowerment in gravel cycling. This initiative will also raise $10,000 for the National Interscholastic Cycling Association’s Girls Riding Together (NICA GRiT) program, supporting young women in cycling nationwide.
A Milestone Worth Reaching Again
The "1000 Women of Gravel" initiative has become a cornerstone of Gravel Worlds’ mission to create a welcoming environment for women cyclists of all levels.
“Reaching 1,000 women in 2022 was an incredible milestone for Gravel Worlds, and I’m so excited to see us bring this initiative back for 2025,” said Sofia Gibson, Assistant Lead Promoter of Gravel Worlds. “It’s not just about the numbers—it’s about the stories, the friendships, and the inspiration that come from seeing so many amazing women on the start line. We can’t wait to do it again while also raising funds for such an impactful cause like NICA GRiT.”

Gravel Worlds is known for its dedication to inclusivity, embracing riders of every ability. Hannah Shell, First to Last Coordinator, ensures that this commitment is felt by every participant.

How the Initiative Works
Participation Goal: Gravel Worlds is inviting 1,000 women to join the start line across all event categories in 2025.
Fundraising Commitment: Gravel Worlds will contribute to the $10,000 goal for NICA GRiT based on registration, with additional fundraising opportunities available for participants and supporters.
Community Support: Participants will have access to training resources, community meetups, and a network of fellow riders to prepare for the event.
